Does democratized culture mean better art or is true talent instead drowned out?
PressPausePlay is a relatively recent documentary about creativity and digital culture. It’s so much easier now, the film says, for people to get started writing music, making films, and producing art, so much easier now that you can do almost anything just by buying a computer, but does this mean we’re going to become used to mediocrity?
In the words of Warren Harrison, one of the first commenters on the film:
This is such a great film. It made my sad, angry, excited and inspired.
I feel exactly the same way.
